Gilgit Baltistan in January – February
If we start from the beginning of the year, January and February are the coldest months. Most areas are covered in snow, and many roads are closed. There’s no problem in the main city, but roads can be blocked in outlying and remote areas.
- Best for: Snow lovers and photographers
- Not ideal for: Road trips and trekking
- Temperature: Very cold, especially at night.
Mountains look like a fairy tale, but travel scope is limited. These days, you can only admire the mountains, but trekking is very difficult.

March
From mid-March, the intensity of winter really decreases. Snow remains in the high areas, but the lower valleys start to feel a little lively. On March 21st, winter is considered to be over here. People are busy in their fields, and agriculture begins from here onwards.
- Best for: Quiet travel, less rush
- Roads: Partially open
- Nature: Not fully awake yet
April
The proper start of spring. Blossoms begin to bloom in Hunza and nearby areas. If you want to witness the blossom season and are a photography enthusiast, this season is perfect for you; flowers are blooming everywhere.

Hunza and Skardu are like a painting. I personally love the late fall season; photography in autumn is a unique experience.
November and December
In these months, winter begins to slowly decline again, and the trees shed their leaves, and the greenery is completely gone, so these months hold no special attraction, so we suggest you wait for the next season again. November and December offer no special benefits here.
