Hushe Valley : Ultimate Guide to Karakoram’s Trekking Paradise

Hushe Valley, located at an altitude of nearly 10,000 feet above sea level, is the gateway to some of the world’s highest mountain ranges. It provides access to legendary peaks such as K2, Gondogoro, K6, K7, Masherbrum, Double Peak, Broad Peak, and Khnami Kaa. This valley serves as a base for several trekking and mountaineering expeditions.

Road to Hushe – A Traveller’s Journey

The journey from Skardu to Hushe passes through the route of Khaplu. This valley, approximately 150 km from Skardu, can be reached in 6-7 hours by jeep. The road is difficult, but at every turn there is a new view, a new story. As you climb up, the world goes behind, and only mountains and silence remain with you.

Hushe ke Himalayan Rakshawale – Famous Peaks

  1. Masherbrum (K1) – 7,821 m

It is called K1 because it is the first mapped peak of Karakoram. Masherbrum looks like a majestic pyramid and is the 22nd highest mountain in the world. The combination of snow and raw power from all sides and the view from all directions is simply breathtaking.

  1. Laila Peak – 6,096 m This peak is known as the most beautiful mountain in Pakistan. Its shape is like a needle – sharp and elegant. Many people come just to see it as the charm and grace of this peak is of a different level.
  2. K6 (Baltistan Peak) – 7,282 m Standing precariously above the Charakusa Glacier, this peak, K6, is a major challenge for climbers. It was first climbed in 1970. From Hushe it looks like a sleeping giant.
  3. K7 – 6,934 m
Near K6, this combined peak of granite and ice — K7 — is like a silent hero. For professional climbers it is a hidden treasure, and its minimalist beauty attracts a lot.
