The Karakoram Horizon Trek begins in the vibrant town of Skardu, known as the gateway to the Karakoram. From here, Skardu Trekkers will guide you on a remarkable journey through remote areas rarely visited by others. The trek traverses through the serene Hushe Valley, where you’ll be greeted by the sight of Mashabrum, standing tall at 7,821 meters, and continues toward the challenging Gondogoro La pass. This pass offers some of the most breathtaking views of the Karakoram’s towering giants, including K2, Broad Peak, and the Gasherbrums.
As you progress further, the trek leads you to the magnificent Baltoro Glacier, one of the longest glaciers outside the polar regions. Walking on this glacier, you’ll be surrounded by some of the most iconic peaks in the world, such as the Trango Towers, Cathedral Group, and Lobsang Spires. The trek then takes you to Concordia, often dubbed the “Throne Room of the Gods,” where the sheer concentration of towering peaks creates a truly majestic panorama.
The journey continues as you cross into the Biafo Glacier and approach the challenging Hispar La, a high-altitude pass that connects the Biafo and Hispar glaciers.
