The Karakoram Horizon Trek begins in the vibrant town of Skardu, known as the gateway to the Karakoram. From here, Skardu Trekkers will guide you on a remarkable journey through remote areas rarely visited by others. The trek traverses through the serene Hushe Valley, where you’ll be greeted by the sight of Mashabrum, standing tall at 7,821 meters, and continues toward the challenging Gondogoro La pass. This pass offers some of the most breathtaking views of the Karakoram’s towering giants, including K2, Broad Peak, and the Gasherbrums.

As you progress further, the trek leads you to the magnificent Baltoro Glacier, one of the longest glaciers outside the polar regions. Walking on this glacier, you’ll be surrounded by some of the most iconic peaks in the world, such as the Trango Towers, Cathedral Group, and Lobsang Spires. Itinerary

Arrive at Islamabad airport where you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your accommodation. After settling in, embark on an afternoon city tour of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Explore the iconic Faisal Mosque, the expansive Shakar Parian Park, and the Pakistan Monument. Visit Daman-e-Koh for panoramic views of the city, the Lok Versa Museum to delve into the cultural heritage, and the vibrant bazaars of Rawalpindi, including Raja Bazaar, for a taste of local life and shopping.

Take a spectacular flight from Islamabad to Skardu, enjoying panoramic views of the majestic mountains. Upon arrival, you'll have the afternoon to explore Skardu town at your leisure. If the flight is canceled due to adverse weather conditions, we will drive to Chilas via Babusar Pass. This drive, while longer, offers an alternative way to experience the breathtaking mountain landscapes.

Spend a free day in Skardu to acclimatize and prepare for the trek. You can visit the local bazaar, explore the historical Khurpucho Fort, and soak in the serene environment. If the flight delay affected your schedule, we’ll use this day to complete our drive from Chilas to Skardu, following the scenic route along the Indus River.

Start your journey by jeep from Skardu to Hushe, the gateway to the Karakoram Horizon Trek. This 120 km drive takes approximately 6-7 hours, crossing the Shyok River and passing through charming villages like Khaplu, Macholo, Kanday, and Khaney. Hushe is where your trek begins, surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery.

Embark on your first trek of the Karakoram Horizon Trek from Hushe Village to Saicho. This trek covers approximately 9.3 km and takes about 4-5 hours. As you walk, you'll witness the rugged beauty of the Karakoram range and the tranquil environment of the trek’s starting phase.

Today, you’ll trek from Saicho to Gondogoro, a distance of 3.9 km, which takes 3-4 hours. Enjoy the stunning landscapes and rugged terrain as you move closer to the heart of the Karakoram Mountains.

Continue your trek from Gondogoro to Hispung, a journey that will take 5-6 hours. The path offers impressive views of the surrounding peaks and prepares you for the higher altitudes and more challenging terrain to come.

Trek from Hispung to Ali Camp, taking approximately 9-10 hours. You will cross the Gondogoro La, a high mountain pass at 5,650 meters. This challenging ascent involves climbing up to the pass with fixed ropes and crampons. From the pass, you will be rewarded with unparalleled views of K2 and other 8,000-meter peaks. After crossing the pass, descend to Ali Camp for the night.

Trek to Concordia, where the Baltoro, Abruzzi, and Godwin Austen glaciers converge. This 5-6 hour trek offers a 360-degree panoramic view of some of the world’s highest peaks, including K2, Broad Peak, and Angel Peak. Concordia is renowned for its breathtaking and expansive mountain views.

Today’s trek takes you to both Broad Peak Base Camp and K2 Base Camp. Start with a visit to Broad Peak Base Camp at 4,800 meters for stunning views of K2. Proceed to K2 Base Camp at 5,135 meters and return to Concordia for the night. This day offers some of the most iconic views of the Karakoram range.

Embark on a trek from Concordia to Goro II, covering approximately 9.2 kilometers in 4-5 hours. As you traverse this dramatic glacial landscape, be captivated by the impressive views of Masherbrum, Muztagh Tower, and Biarchedi Peak. The journey offers stunning vistas and a unique perspective on the grandeur of the Karakoram range. Arrive in Goro II and take in the breathtaking surroundings.

Set out on a trek from Goro II to Urdukas, covering 12.1 kilometers in 5-6 hours. This section of the Karakoram Horizon Trek provides striking views of notable peaks, including Paiyu Peak, Uli Biaho, the Great Trango Tower, Lobsang Spire, and the Cathedral Towers.
