Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Islamabad International Airport, our friendly guide from Skardu Trekkers will be there to warmly welcome you. After a brief introduction and briefing about the journey ahead, you will be transferred to a comfortable hotel in the heart of Islamabad. This day is dedicated to rest and relaxation, allowing you to recover from your long flight. You may also opt to explore the capital city at your leisure, visiting sites like the Faisal Mosque, Pakistan Monument, or the bustling markets of Islamabad.

Early in the morning, after a hearty breakfast, we’ll head to the airport for our scenic flight to Skardu, the gateway to the Karakoram Mountains. The flight itself is a mesmerizing experience, offering aerial views of some of the highest peaks in the world, including Nanga Parbat and the Karakoram Range. Upon landing in Skardu, you’ll be transferred to your hotel where you can relax or take a short stroll along the Skardu River. Skardu Trekkers will organize a welcome dinner where you’ll meet the rest of the team and discuss the days ahead.

Acclimatization is key for any successful trek, so today is dedicated to adjusting to the altitude. You’ll have the freedom to explore Skardu at your own pace. Visit the historic Skardu Fort, perched high above the city, or take a peaceful walk around Satpara Lake. For those interested in culture, the local bazaar offers a vibrant mix of traditional crafts and foods. Our team from Skardu Trekkers will be available to offer guidance and suggestions, ensuring you make the most of this day while preparing for the trek.

Today, we set off on a thrilling drive from Skardu to Hushe Valley, one of the most picturesque valleys in the Karakoram. The journey takes us along the Shyok River, passing through small villages and offering breathtaking views of the rugged landscape. As we approach Hushe, the towering peaks of Masherbrum and Laila Peak come into view. Upon arrival in Hushe, we’ll settle into our campsite or a cozy guesthouse, surrounded by the tranquility of the mountains. Skardu Trekkers will brief you on the trek that begins the next day.

After an early breakfast, we’ll begin our trek from Hushe Valley to Humbrok, a remote and serene campsite nestled amidst towering peaks. The trail takes us through a variety of terrains, from lush meadows to rocky paths, with stunning vistas at every turn. The trek is moderate in difficulty, allowing you to gradually acclimatize to the higher altitudes. As we reach Humbrok, we’ll set up camp in a beautiful spot, where you can relax and enjoy the breathtaking surroundings. Dinner will be served under the stars, with the sound of a distant stream providing a soothing backdrop.

Today is one of the highlights of the Humbrok Trek. After breakfast, we’ll embark on a challenging trek towards the K2 viewpoint, a vantage point that offers unparalleled views of the world’s second-highest peak, K2, along with other towering summits of the Karakoram Range. The trail is steep in parts, but the effort is well worth it. As we reach the viewpoint, the majestic sight of K2 and the surrounding mountains will leave you in awe. After spending some time soaking in the panoramic views and capturing photographs, we’ll trek back to Humbrok where a warm meal awaits.

Following breakfast, we will trek back from the K2 viewpoint to our camp at Humbrok. This day’s trek allows you to revisit the scenic landscapes you passed earlier, offering new perspectives and photo opportunities. We’ll take a relaxed pace, ensuring plenty of time to enjoy the environment and reflect on the adventure so far. Back at Humbrok, we’ll enjoy a restful evening, with Skardu Trekkers providing a special dinner to celebrate your accomplishments.

After packing up our campsite, we’ll begin our trek back to Hushe Valley, retracing our steps through the scenic routes. The return trek provides an opportunity to fully appreciate the stunning beauty of the Karakoram Range. Upon arrival in Hushe, we’ll settle into a guesthouse, where you can enjoy a hot shower and a comfortable bed after several days of camping. In the evening, a farewell dinner will be hosted by Skardu Trekkers, celebrating the successful completion of the trekking portion of your journey.

This morning, we’ll depart Hushe Valley and make our way back to Skardu. The drive offers another chance to absorb the stunning landscapes of the Karakoram, with plenty of stops for photos along the way. Once in Skardu, you’ll check into your hotel, where you can spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Explore the local bazaar, visit the Skardu Fort if you missed it earlier, or simply relax and enjoy the comforts of the hotel.

After breakfast, we’ll head to the airport for our return flight to Islamabad. Weather permitting, the flight will offer another chance to witness the stunning mountain scenery from above. Upon arrival in Islamabad, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city or do some last-minute shopping. In the evening, Skardu Trekkers will host a farewell dinner where you can share stories and memories from the trek.

After a final breakfast in Islamabad, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. As you board your flight, you’ll carry with you unforgettable memories of the Humbrok Trek and the incredible landscapes of Pakistan’s Karakoram Range, along with the warm hospitality and expert guidance provided by Skardu Trekkers.
