Day 2 :

Fly to Skardu

On the second day of our adventure Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek, we’ll head to Islamabad International Airport for a scenic flight to Skardu. As we ascend, you’ll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of some of the world's most awe-inspiring mountain ranges. Gaze at the towering Nanga Parbat, the formidable Karakoram Range, the sweeping Himalayas, and the rugged Hindukush Range. Each range offers a unique display of snow-capped peaks and dramatic landscapes that will captivate your senses. Upon landing in Skardu, we'll transfer to our comfortable hotel, ideally situated amidst the stunning natural beauty of the region. Take this time to relax and soak in the tranquil surroundings. This serene retreat will serve as your base as we prepare to explore the breathtaking landscapes that Skardu and its environs have to offer.

Day 3 :

Skardu City Tour & Shopping

After a hearty breakfast, we will embark on an acclimatization hike to Kharpocho Fort, a historic site just a short walk from Skardu Bazar. The Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek's preparation includes this invigorating hike, where the fort offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Indus River, Skardu, and the surrounding landscapes. This stunning vantage point provides a perfect introduction to the grandeur of the region. Following the hike, we will explore the charming town of Skardu and enjoy a tranquil boat ride on the serene Upper Kachura Lake. To capture the beauty of the area, Skardu Trekkers will provide a drone for you to record unforgettable footage of this picturesque lake and its surroundings. In the afternoon, you’ll have time to check your climbing gear for the Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek or explore the local markets for any last-minute shopping or sightseeing. Day 4 :

Drive to Askoli

On this day of the Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek, we set out on a rugged yet exhilarating journey to Askoli, the gateway to our mountain adventure. The day begins with a 5-7 hour jeep drive from Skardu, taking us through some of the most remote and stunning landscapes in the region. Our route initially leads us into the Shigar Valley, a crucial entry point to the towering peaks of the Karakoram, including the legendary K2. As we travel deeper into the valley, the scenery transforms dramatically, with majestic mountains closing in around us, heightening the sense of adventure. The narrow, winding track will follow the Braldu River, a glacial-fed waterway that weaves through the rugged terrain. This drive is as much an adventure as the trek itself, offering glimpses of the untamed beauty and raw grandeur of the region. With each turn, the anticipation builds as we approach Askoli, the last village inhabited before we enter the heart of the Karakoram Range. Upon arrival in Askoli, we will meet our team of local porters, who will be essential in supporting our trek. Their expertise and deep understanding of the terrain, combined with their rich cultural knowledge, will be invaluable as we prepare to embark on the next stage of our K2 Concordia Trek into the mountains.

Day 5 :

Trek to Mongron

The trek today kicks off with a refreshing two-hour walk leading us to Korofon Camp, situated at the confluence of the Biafo Glacier and the Baltoro River. This initial stretch offers a glimpse of the dramatic landscapes that define the Baltoro K2 Trek, with the glacier and river carving their way through the rugged terrain, setting the stage for the adventure ahead. As we make our way towards Mongron Camp, the scenery continues to captivate with the appearance of Bakhordas Peak, the first major summit visible on the trek. Its imposing presence highlights the grandeur of our journey and serves as a powerful reminder of the epic adventure we are undertaking. Each step forward brings us closer to the legendary K2, intensifying the excitement and sense of achievement. By the end of the day, we’ll reach our accommodations, where you can unwind in the comfort of a hotel room on a twin-sharing basis. After a day of trekking through awe-inspiring landscapes, enjoy a well-deserved rest and recharge. Day 6 :

Trek to Paiju

Today's section of the Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek is a captivating journey through the dramatic Karakoram landscape, offering a challenging yet immensely rewarding experience. As we trek towards Paju Camp, you'll be surrounded by awe-inspiring mountain vistas that showcase the raw beauty of one of the world's most spectacular mountain ranges. Towering peaks, rugged glaciers, and expansive, untouched valleys set the stage for a truly memorable adventure. As we approach Paju Camp, the grandeur of the surrounding mountains becomes even more apparent, underscoring the sheer scale and magnificence of the region. Upon reaching Paju Camp, we'll set up our tents for the night, where twin-sharing accommodations provide a cozy shelter amid the wilderness. The sounds of nature and the crisp mountain air will enhance the sense of adventure, creating an ideal environment for rest and reflection. Throughout the day, all meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—are provided, ensuring you are well-nourished and prepared for the continued exploration of the Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek.

Day 7 :

Trek to Khoburtse

On this day of the Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek, we will embark on an exhilarating journey across the 65-kilometer-long Baltoro Glacier, which will be our companion until we reach Concordia, where it merges with the Godwin-Austen Glacier. After setting out from Paju Camp, it takes only half an hour of trekking to reach the snout of the Baltoro Glacier, marking the start of a truly iconic segment of the trek. As we stand at the gateway to the glacier, you'll be greeted by the breathtaking sight of the Trango Towers, Uli Biaho, and Paju Peak—some of the most dramatic rock formations in the world. These towering monoliths are a climber's dream and a photographer's paradise, rising sharply against the sky and offering a powerful testament to the rugged beauty of the Karakoram. The trek from here takes us over the undulating terrain of the Baltoro Glacier, a mix of ice and moraine that demands both caution and resilience. As we navigate the ups and downs of the glacier, it's important to be mindful of the environment and the animals sharing the trail. When horses or donkeys cross your path, it's best to give them space, allowing them to pass safely. After 4 to 5 hours of trekking, we will arrive at Liligo, where we’ll pause to enjoy our lunch with an unparalleled view of the Trango Towers. This break offers a moment to rest and soak in the majesty of the surroundings, with the spires of Trango soaring above us. Post-lunch, we will continue our walk along the right edge of the Baltoro Glacier, making our way to Khoburse Camp. Here, we will set up camp for the night, resting in tents on a twin-sharing basis. The serene and remote environment of Khoburse offers a peaceful conclusion to the day's journey, with the glacier and towering peaks providing a spectacular backdrop. All meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—are included, ensuring you are nourished and prepared for the challenges and wonders of the following day.

Day 8 :

Trek to Urdukus

On this day of our Baltoro Glacier k2 trek, the iconic Trango Towers will come into full view after we traverse two small glaciers. These natural obstacles add a sense of adventure to the day’s journey, with each step bringing us closer to the towering granite spires that have captivated mountaineers and adventurers from around the world. As we advance, the Trango Towers will eventually dominate the skyline, their sheer vertical faces and sharp ridges standing as a testament to the raw power of nature. The sight of these magnificent peaks will be one of the most memorable moments of the trek, offering a profound sense of accomplishment as we draw near. For the night, our journey will take us to Urdukas, a campsite situated near an army camp and perched 100 meters above the Baltoro Glacier. This elevated position provides not only a safe and secure resting place but also offers incredible panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and the glacier below. The beauty and tranquility of Urdukas make it a perfect spot to unwind after a day of challenging trekking, with the high mountains casting long shadows over the camp as the sun sets. Here, we will set up our tents for the night, sharing them on a twin basis, while reflecting on the awe-inspiring landscapes we’ve encountered. The altitude and unique location of Urdukas add a sense of remoteness and adventure, making it a special stop on our journey towards Concordia.

Day 9 :

Rest Day at Urdukus

On this day of the Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek, you’ll take a well-earned rest day at Urdukas Camp, perched at 4,130 meters. This day is dedicated to acclimatization and recovery, crucial for the challenges ahead. The morning begins with a leisurely breakfast, followed by an optional short hike around the camp to help with acclimatization and enjoy stunning views of the Trango Towers and Cathedral Peak. The afternoon is for relaxation—rest at camp, take photos, or explore nearby viewpoints. As evening falls, enjoy tea and snacks while watching the sunset over the Karakoram peaks, followed by dinner and a peaceful night under the stars. This rest day at Urdukas ensures you’re refreshed and ready to continue the trek.

Day 10 :

Trek to Goro II

Today’s segment of the Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek will immerse you in the heart of the glacier’s rugged beauty. We’ll trek along the medial moraine, a natural pathway shaped by the merging of glaciers. This rocky and uneven trail requires careful navigation as we ascend and descend through the glacier’s rough terrain. As we progress, the southern horizon will be graced by the striking presence of Masherbrum, towering at 7,821 meters. Known for its dramatic and snow-capped summit, Masherbrum provides a breathtaking backdrop to our trek, constantly reminding us of the grandeur of the Karakoram Range. The journey will also reveal massive ice seracs—towering pillars of ice that rise from the glacier like frozen waves. These impressive natural sculptures add a surreal and dynamic quality to the landscape, showcasing the immense power of the glacier. Our destination for the night is Goro II, a campsite at the confluence of the Baltoro Glacier and the Younghusband Glacier. This will be our first night camping directly on the glacier, where temperatures can drop significantly after dark. From Goro II, you’ll enjoy unobstructed views of Masherbrum and the formidable Muztagh Tower, another iconic peak in the region. Accommodation for the night will be in twin-sharing tents, providing shelter in this remote and awe-inspiring environment. With meals—including breakfast, lunch, and dinner—provided, you’ll be well-nourished and ready for the next day’s challenges. The combination of isolation, the grandeur of the glacier, and the surrounding peaks will make this night on the Baltoro Glacier a truly unforgettable experience.

Day 11 :

Trek to Concordia

On this monumental day of the Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek, you will finally arrive at the legendary Concordia, famously known as the "Throne Room of the Mountain Gods." The journey today involves a steady ascent up the moraine, where each step reveals increasingly breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. As we climb, the landscape transforms into a dramatic tableau of towering, snow-capped mountains. The highlight of the day is the long-anticipated sight of K2, the world’s second-highest peak. When K2 first emerges on the horizon, it’s a sight that will leave you breathless and forever etched in your memory. Alongside K2, you'll also see the majestic Broad Peak with its broad summit, the elegantly shaped Mitre Peak, and the imposing Gasherbrum massif, home to several of the world's highest mountains. To the southeast, Sia Kangri and other formidable peaks will further enhance the awe-inspiring panorama.

Day 12 :

Trek to Broad Peak Base Camp and K2 Base Camp

On this day of the Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek, we have a flexible schedule tailored to meet the diverse preferences of the trekkers. Concordia, with its unparalleled 360-degree view of towering peaks, serves as a perfect base for various activities, and participants can choose how they wish to spend their day in the "Throne Room of the Mountain Gods." For those eager to get up close to K2, the second-highest peak in the world, and pay tribute to the mountaineering legends at the Gilkey Memorial, an early morning start is essential. We'll begin our trek from Concordia, crossing glacial streams near the camp, and navigating the challenging, rough terrain of the glacier, which has become more technical due to the ongoing melting of the ice. Despite the difficulty, the effort is well.

Day 13 :

Trek back to Concordia

Today, we will make our way back to Concordia from K2 Base Camp, retracing the same route we followed on our way up. For those who chose to stay at Concordia, this will be a rest day, allowing them to continue enjoying the breathtaking views and tranquil atmosphere of this remarkable location. The trek back from K2 Base Camp is less challenging, offering a more relaxed hike as we descend through the familiar terrain of the Godwin-Austen Glacier. The scenery remains as stunning as ever, with the towering peaks of the Karakoram Range accompanying us along the way. The journey back to Concordia will take approximately 5-6 hours, allowing us to soak in the majestic beauty of the mountains from a different perspective as we make our way down. As we approach Concordia, the iconic peaks that surround this natural amphitheater will once again come into view, reminding us of the incredible adventure we've undertaken. Upon arrival at Concordia, we'll set up camp for the night, with tents on a twin-sharing basis. For those who stayed behind at Concordia, the day provides a chance to relax and fully absorb the wilderness of this awe-inspiring location. Whether you choose to spend your time exploring the immediate area or simply taking in the views, the tranquility and grandeur of Concordia offer a perfect backdrop for reflection and rest.

Day 14 :

Trek to Goro 1

Today, we will return to Goro I, retracing the route we followed on our journey to K2 Base Camp. The hike back is more straightforward and less strenuous, allowing us to enjoy a more relaxed pace as we make our way across the Baltoro Glacier. As we trek, the awe-inspiring views of the Karakoram Mountains will once again surround us, providing a familiar and breathtaking panorama. The glacier’s icy expanse and the towering peaks offer a constant reminder of the grandeur of the landscape we’re traversing. The hike to Goro I will take approximately 5-6 hours. Once we reach the campsite, we’ll set up our tents on a twin-sharing basis, ready to rest and recharge. Goro I offers a serene environment with stunning views of the surrounding peaks, making it a fitting place to spend the night after a day of trekking. Meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—are included, ensuring you stay well-nourished throughout the journey. As evening approaches, the camp will be a peaceful retreat, with the quiet of the glacier and the majesty of the mountains providing a perfect backdrop for relaxation.

Day 15 :

Trek to Khoburse

On this day of the K2 Concordia Trek, we will begin our descent from Goro I, heading towards our next destination. Our journey will take us through some of the most picturesque sections of the trek, with plenty of opportunities to appreciate the stunning landscapes.We’ll stop for lunch at Urdukas, a beautiful and tranquil spot that offers a welcome respite and a chance to take in the breathtaking surroundings. After lunch, we’ll continue our trek along the edge of the Baltoro Glacier, following the well-trodden path that hugs the glacier’s boundary. The trek to Khoburse Camp will take up to 6 hours, as we navigate the varied terrain and enjoy the ever-changing views. Khoburse Camp is situated in a scenic location with a serene atmosphere, providing a perfect setting for an overnight stay. Upon arrival at Khoburse, we will set up our tents on a twin-sharing basis and settle in for the night. The camp offers a peaceful retreat with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, Meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—are included, ensuring that you are well-fed and ready to enjoy the evening in this beautiful part of the Karakoram. The combination of the day’s trek and the tranquil camp setting will make for a memorable experience, encapsulating the beauty and serenity of the region.

Day 16 :

Trek to Paju

Today, we will continue our trek back to Paju Camp, navigating the rugged terrain of the Baltoro Glacier. The trek offers a chance to revisit some of the stunning landmarks we encountered earlier in our journey, including the majestic Trango Towers, Uli Biaho, and Paju Peak. These iconic peaks provide a dramatic backdrop as we make our way through the glacier's challenging yet awe-inspiring landscape. The trek from Khoburse to Paju Camp will take approximately 5-6 hours. The return journey is generally easier and more straightforward compared to the ascent, allowing us to enjoy the familiar scenery with a sense of accomplishment.Upon reaching Paju Camp, we will set up our tents for the night.

Day 17 :

Drive Back to Askoli

On this day of the Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek, we will depart from Paju Camp and take jeeps that are scheduled to transport us back to Askoli village. The jeep ride offers a comfortable and scenic journey, providing a different perspective of the region as we travel through the rugged landscape. Upon reaching Askoli, we will check into our hotel rooms, which will be arranged on a twin-sharing basis. This will be a welcome change from camping, allowing for a relaxing and restful stay.The hotel accommodation offers a chance to unwind and reflect on the incredible journey through the Karakoram Mountains, as well as to enjoy the comforts of a warm and welcoming environment.

Day 18 :

Drive Back to Skardu

Today, we will journey by jeep from Askoli village back to Skardu city. Upon arrival, you’ll have time to freshen up, shop for souvenirs, and explore the local area. This is a chance to unwind and enjoy the city's amenities before concluding the Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek. With the trek at an end, you'll leave with lasting memories and a profound appreciation for the breathtaking landscapes and experiences of the Karakoram.

Day 19 :

Fly to Islamabad

Today, participants will take a flight from Skardu to Islamabad, marking the conclusion of the Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek. After arriving in Islamabad, you’ll have ample time to relax and unwind at your hotel, enjoying the comfort and amenities as you reflect on the incredible journeyyou’ve just completed. Please note that domestic flights can occasionally be delayed or canceled due to weather conditions. In the event of a flight cancellation, we will arrange for a drive to Chilas, which takes approximately eight to ten hours by vehicle. However, member safety is EBT’s top priority. Our experienced ground team does everything possible to ensure a safe adventure, focusing on safety first and injury prevention.

The reality on the ground in Pakistan is that other local (budget) tour operators often forgo bringing a satellite phone due to its high cost. What kind of visa is needed for the Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek ?

All guests joining the Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek must apply for a Pakistani Trekking and Mountaineering Visa. This visa is different from the standard tourist visa, so you will not be applying for a tourist visa.

Is it safe for a Solo Woman to join the Baltoro Glacier K2 Trek ?

Roughly 50% of our clients on the K2 Base Camp Trek are female, hailing primarily from the USA, the UK, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Over the years, we have had solo women from more than 20 different nationalities join us on such expedition.

You will always be paired with another solo woman as hotel/tent mates. If there is no other female to pair you with due to odd numbers, you will not be required to share a tent.
